A Reckis Christmas

Decemember 26th we all went up to Vermont to have a Reckis Christmas party at Great Aunt Jill's and Great Uncle Roger's house. Adam was excited to see the horses and was able to hop up on Xcellence with Jill. He also really wanted to hold the cats, but they had other thoughts.
Simba the dog was also a big hit with Adam.

You would think with Adam's love of animals that we would give in a get him something furry to play with...it is hard...but we still stick with just our fishies.

Christmas!

Christmas Eve Adam helped make cookies for Santa and made sure they were placed out just right for him...along with Santa's beer (doesn't Santa like beer in your house?).

Adam also wanted to make sure every cookie tasted just right for Santa. The beer and cookies must have worked...

Adam was pretty excited to get a choo-choo train and some tools of his own. He also loved the safety goggles that came with some tools...

The Baileys joined us Christmas afternoon and everyone had a good time eating and playing with toys.Merry Christmas everyone!

Bailey Christmas party

Last weekend, we went to the Bailey family Christmas party at Great Aunt Carla's and Great Uncle Tommy's house. Of course, since Jakob was there, there was running and wrestling with the two boys. Second cousin Mikey was also there and joined in on the fun.

We followed the party with a quick visit up to NH to celebrate pop's birthday where Adam helped decorate the cupcakes.

Happy Birthday Pops!

Polar bear express

Digging out a few pics that I meant to post a while ago....

Adam and some of his friends went to the Ecotarium for a "Polar Bear's Journey" two weekends ago. This event gathered all the kids together for a reading of the "Polar Bear Express". Then they recieved their own bell from Santa (Adam loved that). After that, everyone hopped on the train for a ride to see the polar bear. The highlight for Adam was taking the choo choo in the tunnel.

We also took some time to enjoy the museum...

Ice Storm....

So, this is a non-Adam update, but I wanted to share what is going on in the Bailey house hold today (and most likely for the next few days!). There was a pretty big ice storm that hit western Mass and southern NH last night and hundreds of thousands of people, including us and Grammy Jo & Pops, are out of power. You can read more about it here. Now, you may ask, how are you giving a blog update if you don't have any power? Well, I am at work right now (shhhh..I should be doing work instead of this) and I don't mind being at work because it is nice and warm and I have electricity at my fingertips.

The picture below is what the road looks like in front of our house (the house in the pics is actually our neighbors house), and that tree branch is dangling off of the power lines that feed in directly into our house.

Matt bought a generator this morning (the last one in the store) so we have our sump-pump attached to it so there is no flooding in our basement luckily. Unfortunately, Grammy Jo and Pops weren't as lucky and have had water starting to flood their basement. We also have a fire going in the fireplace to keep the house a roasting 56 degrees. Brrrr....

Hopefully we will get power sometime soon...if not...I really might have to camp out at work just to stay warm!!

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was at our house and as expected, included wrestling between Adam and Jakob....although Grandpa got in the mix too...
Some silly faces...
...and some pretty faces. (Kayla also decided to cut her first tooth on Thanksgiving!)

Adam didn't want to miss out on any of the Thanksgiving food prep.

The kids table...
We also celebrated Grandma's Birthday!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
